i-Ready Diagnostic Testing This Week

Good Afternoon, 
This week your child will take the second i-Ready Diagnostic test.  Please know that they should not do i-Ready for homework this week, but they still need to read for 15 minutes.
What can YOU do to help?
To help prepare your child for the i-Ready Diagnostic, encourage them to:

• Get a good night’s sleep and eat a full breakfast the day of the assessment.
• Try their best on each question and try not to rush.
• Try not to worry about questions they do not know—remind them that it is expected they will get about half of the questions correct.
• Use paper and a pencil to show work for math questions.
• Be respectful of other students who take longer to finish.

I will break up the test into 20/25 minute sessions each day.  It is very important that they do their best. The results from the test will be used to change their ongoing i-Ready lessons for the remainder of the year. They will not take another i-Ready diagnostic test until May or June. 
I hope to get the results from this test and the results from the BAS to you before we break for the holidays. If I am unable to get them printed and sorted I will e-mail them to you over the break.
