Good Morning,
Today grade reports will be sent home with all students.  First grade students are on a 1,2, 3 grading scale.  However, I still enter grades in Pinnacle, Broward County's grade book system, which is a A,B,C,D,F grade scale. This report will help you see if your child is completing classwork and homework.  If you have missing Math homework at home, please turn it in as soon as possible.
Also, Interim Reports will be sent home today with some students, please sign and return.

Thanks.

Good Evening,
It is hard for me to write a sweet and positive e-mail with the sad tragedy unfolding right now at a school very close to home.  Regarding situations like that, please know that your children are loved as much as my own and their safety is my number one responsibility.  My classroom door is always locked and I am always aware of our surroundings.  Everyone at our school is trained on what to do should a situation occur, and Plantation Police Department is very quick to respond. Hug and kiss your babies more than usual tonight, and send strength to those unable to tonight.

Thank you for your sweet gifts. I loved the sweet looks and hugs they gave me the most!  The field trip was fun, and exhausting. Photographer Alicia was there to capture every single moment, and you can find them here:

Good Afternoon,

Your Rock Stars all looked so sweet as 100 year olds!  We had a SUPER fun day and did many activities in all subjects centered around the 100th Day of School.

Shout out to Mrs. Alicia for sending in snacks, pencils, and donuts, and for also capturing so many pictures!  Shout out to Victoria, Landon's mom, for the SUPER cute 100th Day bracelets!
Thanks to all of you for dressing your kids up! Today was AWESOME! One of the most memorable days of the year for sure!

Yours Educationally,

Good Evening,

Just a couple of reminders, as there is a lot going on this week! Are you a member of the Tropical Peeps Facebook group?  It's a great way to stay involved.  Here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TropicalPeeps/about/

Tomorrow is the 100th Day of School
Don't forget to have you child dress up as they would look if they were 100 years old.

Tuesday there is a Relay for Life Fundraiser at Zona Fresca.  Arty Van Gogh will be there. You can make an Art Heart on the bus for Valentine's Day.

Wednesday is Valentine's Day and the Field Trip
We have our field trip on Valentine's Day. We will still have an exchange before dismissal. If you would like your little one to bring in cards or candy to pass out you or more than welcome to. Please have your child sign each card with their name, but please do not mark who each one is for.  It is difficult and time consuming for the children to pass them out. Remember we have 20 students in our classroom. 😊

Valentine's Box or Bag
Please have you child decorate a box for Valentine's Day. You can use a shoe box, cereal box, paper bag, or whatever you have at home. They will use this to store all of their Valentine's goodies! Please have them bring in their boxes on the morning on February 14th.  Please send in your child's cards/treats in a  separate bag for them to hand out. 😊

Friday is Tropical's annual Family Spaghetti Dinner.  I went last year and it was a blast. I will be there this year as well. I would love to have dinner with my students and their families! The flyer went home in their green folders, and is attached to this e-mail.  Tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis.

Please make sure your child is reading every single night, and on i-Ready Reading for 15 minutes a night.

Thanks!
